Together with my community at Good Shepherd Lutheran College, I’m stepping out so refugee children can step IN to school through Walk My Way!

At Good Shepherd, we’re committed to raising awareness and money to help send refugee children to school through ALWS. (ALWS is Australian Lutheran World Service, the overseas aid and development agency of the Lutheran Church of Australia).

Along with my classmates, I’ll be walking from the Leanyer Campus to the Howard Springs Campus. This distance in “nothing” compared to the distance some refugee children need to walk in order to reach safety.

It's only $26 to help provide a teacher, textbook and table for one pre-school child living in a refugee camp in East Africa and Myanmar. Many of these kids were born here, and know no other life. Some even arrived alone, without mum or dad.

Since 2017, Walk My Way has helped more than 62,500 refugee children go to school! Education is a gift no-one can ever take away – and is more important than ever with school closures and disruptions due to COVID-19.
